It seems a bit early to be doing this, but here goes -

Red Sox
Tigers
Mariners (I'm guessing at Bedard trade)
Indians (WC)

Phillies (Mets if they get Johan)
Brewers
DBacks
Padres (Phillies if Mets get Johan)

Tigers-Mariners
Brewers-Philly (Mets if they get Johan)

Tigers-Phillies (Mets if they get Johan)

Tigers

Johan could obviously muddle the AL i.e. Yankees/Red Sox win WS, but I see the NL trade as more likely. And yes, I think Johan is the difference between the Yankees and Mets winning/being in the WS and not making the playoffs at all.

I too have a few minor upsets brewin', none of which involve the actual Brewers...

NL
Mets (East)
Reds (*I can't believe I'm typing this!)
D-Backs(West)
Cubs - (Wildcard)

Mets/Cubs NLCS with the Mets advancing to the WS

I'm very high on this Reds team this year. The offense has always been there, and the addition of a stud closer like Cordero helps solify a bullpen thats flatout stunk in recent years. If Bailey or one of the other younger guys can step up and assume a bigger role this year behind Arroyo and Harang, I see possible 90 win potential from this squad.

AL
Red Sox (East)
Tigers (Central)
Angels (West)
Mariners - (Wildcard)

I see a Red Sox/Tigers ALCS which could go down as one for the ages, with the Sox squeaking past the Tigers in 7....

All setting up the 1986 rematch of Mets vs. Red Sox, with the Sox this time victorious over my beloved Mets...Bill Buckner be dammed!

And that's not a typo...the Evil Empire misses the playoffs! I think with the Rangers and Athletics taking a few huge steps back, things set up beautifully for the Mariners to win about 95-96 games. Pending Bedard the Bedard to Seattle trade of course. If that doesnt go through, I may have to switch this spot to the Yanks.

Tigers-Phillies (Mets if they get Johan)

Trust me. As a lifetime Philadelphian, PHils ownership will NEVER take the necessary steps (i.e. deadline moves, expanded budgets, etc) necessary to ensure that this happens. You would have thought this decade long underachieving team has won the pennant just moments after getting swept by the Rocks. They were that ecstatic just to be there!

Mgmt runs this team like a dept. store. Winning comes secondary to the "Bottom line"...and its a DISTANT second. Crying or Very sad

Didn't you just post "my beloved Mets" in the post just before that? The only thing that could be more blasphemous than liking the Phils and the Mets is liking the Yankees and the Red Sox (While I don't agree with it, I can actually understand the NL/AL Mets/Yankees preference well before either of those)

Color me confused.

haha I should specify that I'm a "three teamer." I follow the Eagles, Flyers and Sixers religiously, however I loathe the Phils. I guess it goes back to a number of things, specifically my childhood. Ever since the age of 8 or so, baseball has been my favorite sport. Much to my disappointment, the Phils were just putrid at this time. Growing up in the dawn of the "cable" era as I did (1988 - 89ish), I had the option of watching the Mets on Channel 9 and the Braves on TBS. So in essence, I joined the dark side and became a Mets fan, following them even in the bleakest of times.

Thw whole thing makes for an interesting situation as my fiance's father is a diehard Phils fan who also has Diamond club Season Tix. He refuses to take me to any Mets/Phils game after there was a minor "incident" back in '06. Long story short, I'll never wear my Reyes jersey to Citizens Bank Park ever again.

But yeah, when it comes to the sad sack organization that is the Phils, I'm a hater, and a fraud and I'm not embarassed to say it! Very Happy

Hey I'm not disagreeing with you. Try and try as I have, I just cannot get behind an organization so mired in mediocrity, and yet so proud of it. They sunk so far as to actually recognize their 10,000 loses almost as if it were an ACCOMPLISHMENT! That pretty much sums up all you need to know about this team!

And you wanna talk rough? I had to turn my cell off for about three days after the Phils clinched the East on that Sunday. I was flooded with hate texts and VMs!!! haha

Ha, I'm actually counting on him to go down early, I'd like to get a better look at C.V.

I thought MIL had 2 major weaknesses: inexperience and defense. Obviously, everyone's a year older, have more confidence/familiarity, and realize it's necessary to be competitive for all 162 games. You know each player has spent the offseason dwelling on some f'up that cost them a game sometime in July. I also like the Cameron add: they were terrible at 2 premium defensive positions, but the one deal upgrades them at 3B and CF.

I like to see the love for SEA and hate for NYY. Not only are the Yanks evil, they're aging too. Not normally a concearn since they're still immensly and expensively talented, but they're also in the toughest league and one of the toughest divisions. They'll need to battle SEA and the entire AL central to get another WC spot. But I actually like MIN in this race. Keep Santana, sign Bonds, and hope for breakouts from Kubel/Young and resurgences from Liriano/Mauer. If all that happens, they'll be the best team in the MLB.

Tigers (Central)
Sox (East)
Angels (West)
Yankees (WC)
Tigers To WS (Hurts me to say, but if they can play up their offseason momentum a la 2004 Sox... they will be tough to beat)

Phillies (East)
Brewers (Central)
Diamondbacks (West)
Padres (WC)
Diamondbacks (WS)

Tigers over Diamondbacks

All you have to know is the White Sox are taking it again like in 05. Out of the NL it will be the Cubs. No but seriously the Cubs will never make it. The NL team is the NY Mets.

AL East Devil Rays

AL Central: Royals

AL West: Rangers

NL East: Nationals

NL Central: Cardinals

NL West: Giants

AL WC: The A's

NL WC: Marlins

There you go, mark that down.

Boston, NYY, Tigers, and Angels from the AL, Phillies, Mets, Brewers, and Dodgers from the NL.

Yankees vs Dodgers WS, just so I can see Joe Torre misuse Scott Proctor for the OTHER team for once.

AL
East - Yankees
West - Angels
Central - Tigers
Wilcard - Indians

NL
East - Mets
West - Dodgers
Central - Cubs
Wildcard - Astros

World Series - Indians over Cubs

this is defenitly early, but i believe the RedSox will fall just short of making the playoffs, and both the Tigers and Indians will have better records then the yanks AND boston ... also, the indians are the hungriest team in baseball right now ..... and the D-backs have a better team then the Dodgers, but they don't have Joe Torre

p.s. i am so right about this stuff..it WILL happen

I hope your right about the Astro's winning the Wild Card. I'm going to go out to stadium and watch them play, I'm just not sure they have enough starting pitching help. If Tejada is fine, we will have a superb group of hitters and we ought to score a lot of runs.

I think we can win the Wild Card. we are just going to need our pitchers to do really good and Woody Williams has to do a lot better job.

Why is everyone picking the Tigers to advance far in the playoffs? They aren't even going to make the playoffs....they suck so hard. I guess you guys have a lot more faith in Dontrelle Willis, Kenny Rogers, Nate Robertson and Todd Jones than I do.
